Theatre

Our theatre programme addresses the issues of academic, social and emotional growth for the student.

The students learn:

  • dramatic form
  • to develop an awareness of theatre as an art form
  • how to work cooperatively as a member of an ensemble
  • to develop a sense of confidence in themselves and in the work they produce
  • to develop an interest and appreciation in life-long “theatre going”
  • to develop critical appreciation and enjoyment for their own work and for the work of others
  • how to assess their strengths and “weaknesses” in the area of theatre skills
  • how to reflect on themselves and their skills
  • to develop a "positive" attitude towards the study and participation in theatre
  • how to participate in theatrical productions
  • how to become involved in theatre festivals such as the ones sponsored by the International Schools Theatre Association
