Student Council

Part of what one learns at ISD involves interacting with the community and learning about social responsibility. Our Student Councils (one for grades 6-8 and one for grades 9-12) in the Senior School give our students the opportunity to learn about effective self-governance while developing their communication and leadership skills.

All council members represent the rights, responsibilities and interests of their respective classmates. The President presents a report at each open Board of Trustees Meeting reviewing recent activities and addressing issues of concern to our students.

Purpose of the Student Council

The Student Council shall mediate between the student body and the rest of the school community.  The Student Council represents student opinions on all matters relating to school life.  Furthermore, they shall initiate and organize various activities for the entire school community.
